OLD BUSINESS
1. Corporate and Individual memberships coming to a close. Thanks to all that helped with the membership drive. If any entity still wants to purchase, they can reach out to any board member.
2. Due to sponsorships being down, we will not be doing the skydiver and American Flag for homecoming this year. CLass of ‘76 is doing the big flag this year.
3. Volunteer of the year award. We need to accomplish this at one of the last 3 home football games. One is Homecoming, one is senior night so October 9th will be what we are aiming for.
4. CC kickoff shirt sales were a success, only 3 shirts leftover! Inventory was short on, and an adjustment should be made to add a couple XS, M and L (2-3 more of each). Shirt sales should have covered all expenses for the CC kickoff to include the lanterns and engraving of them. Breaking even is good for this event, we don't do this to make money.
5. Street painting for homecoming: September 13 @ 6:00 pm. Kim will put something on social media. We still need to check to see how much primer we have leftover from last year. ACE will donate more if needed. Jeff with ACE said they would need a week’s notice for amount of purple spray
paint needed. Current supplies are in janitors closet. Stephen will talk to Sioux about making stencils as last years got ruined. Need all available board members, students (Owen will push this out to them). Michael will talk to the City about sweeping streets prior. Motion by NICK HALVORSON and seconded by AMANDA HYRONIMUS to buy supplies from ACE. No further discussion. Motion carried.
6. Update from basketball tournament sub committee. The committee has not met yet. Will buy the ‘Sports Tourney’ app again this year. Per Owen, they anticipate the school construction being done and available.
7. 3 potential new board members will come to the October meeting.
8. Membership board member perk, losing a small amount of money for activity passes. We will readdress next year if changes are needed.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Homecoming parade: Last year we authorized $200 for candy to toss out at the parade. Stay with the same amount this year. Motion by MEGAN BUUM and seconded by NICK HALVORSON. No further discussion, motion carried.
2. Selling homecoming spirit items at middle school during lunch. Megan can do Tuesday/Thursday. Micheal will find out what day works best for the school. Elementary will get a sheet to take to parents to purchase.
3. Watchdog hall of fame banquet September 19th. Either Mike or Kim will be there to hand out athletic awards.
OWEN REINALDA
1. Confirming BABC has no plans for during the Homecoming football game. Nothing during the game. Only activities for the week will be street painting and selling spirit items to students during a lunch period at middle/high school.
2. As Football coach: students had a great time at Cedar Canyon!
JACKSON ANDERSON
1. Basketball tourney - we will be in touch with him once the sub committee meets. Figure out how much we want as a fundraising amount. He will get Kim some examples.
2. Aware of code frustrations.
3. Will check into invoices for vouchers, they are currently being sent one by one for each $25 code used. He will check if we can get one total.
NEXT MEETING DATE:
Motion by NICK HALVORSON and seconded by AMANDA HYRONIMUS to move the next meeting to Oct 14, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Beresford High School Library. Will take group photo, please wear your board shirt.
MEETING ADJOURNED:
Motion made by STEPHEN SIMS to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 pm, seconded by KAYLA SCHURCH. No further discussion. Motion carried.
