Meeting Minutes

September 3, 2025

Guests:

6-6:05-Secretary Report: Megan Joseph. Jeff made a motion to approve, seconded by Butch . No further discussion. Motion carried.

6:05-6:25-Treasurer Report: John Christensen/Kayla Schurch.  Kim made a motion to approve, seconded by John. No further discussion, Motion carried.

Old Business

·         Pocket calendars are in and ready for distribution. $399.31 for 500. Invoice turned into John.

·         Members drive sporting events complete. Great job to start the year!

o   Updated list of corporate sponsorships. Kayla will send out an email to touch base with them and see if they still need their swag.

·         Kim organized totes. All are in Janitor room.

·         Booster club clothing store Closed Sept 1. Re opening Oct. 1st -15th (adding new items)

·         Homecoming Sept 26

o   Jeff has secured the flag

o   Flyover-Vanguard Squadron secured

o   Who will be doing parade-Jeff, Carrie, Andrew, Kim

o   Throwing swag and some candy to save on swag so it lasts for a few years.

o   Street painting Sept. 21st at 5:00. Get supplies from Tricia and contact Ace for paint.

o   Kayla has Booster trinkets and will get an order sheet created for the elementary school students.

o   Motion to spend up to $200 for candy for homecoming parade. Motion made by John, seconded by Kayla. No further discussion. Motion approved.

o   Carrie and Jeff will take care of purchasing the candy.

o   Sell homecoming spirit items to elementary and middle school students, as well as at the volleyball game and football game that week.

·         Cross country kick off report.

o    Sold 128 shirts. Took a large loss. We pay $11 per shirt, sold for $15 for one or 2 for $20. Need to adjust this for next year.

o   We asked for more shirts for this year, because of how many were sold last year. Possibly down in numbers due to the meet being on Thursday this year instead of Friday.

New Business

·         Vote on new members Steve Sims and Amanda Hyronimus

o   Motion made by Andrew to approve both new members, seconded by Butch . No further discussion. Motion approved.

·         Vote on BABC youth bball tournament (3-8th)

o   1 tournament. Rec teams only. Need to limit number of teams to keep from going so late.

o   Potential date Jan 3rd, and consolidate both boys and girls into this one tournament. Jeff will discuss with Brendyn about team numbers, etc.

·         Fundraising ideas

o   Last chance track meet Friday, May 22nd.  Owen sent out an email approx. 3 days ahead of time, and coaches responded asap.

§  Cost: $20/kid,  max of $200 per team. About 1100 for Dakota Timing for expense(pay after the meet) . We can set the rate for admission, as well as run the concessions. If we take it, Owen will have the teams send the checks directly to the Booster Club.

§  Regions is the day before. If it rains on Regions, it may be flexed to the 22nd, and last chance track meet would be cancelled.

§  Talked with Owen, he is good with us running it. Will get more logistics.

§  Motion made to do the last chance track meet. Made by Nick, seconded by Megan B. No further discussion. Motion approved.

·         Booster member apparel-Kim

o   ¼ zip cost is approx. 25-24 depending on brand (OGIO, Nike, Adidas)

o   Port Authority jackets are appox. $22

o   Medallion minky blankets are $15, but we have to order 100

o   Each member will have a stipend of $35 to spend on apparel through Kim. Anything over that, member will pay for themselves. Motion made to approve by Nick, seconded by Natalie. No further discussion. Motion approved.

§  Have order to Kim by next Thursday

·         Investing in CD: Michael talked to Teresa Sveeggen about this and she said it’s a good idea to do, as the baseball team does it with their funds. Michael talke to First Dakota and got numbers from them. Ameriprise is also a potential place to look into.

·         Watchdog Hall of Fame banquet Sept 27th at 7 p.m. We need a board member present to hand out awards. Tentatively Mike or Jeff.

Discussion Items:

·         Board Member perks

o   Discussed Individual Memberships full or at least half price for each Board member. Discuss again before next year.

·         Corporate Sponsors/ perks/ changes

o   It was discussed that we need to do more for them for being Corporate members. Possibly give them more passes and/or discount on Booster Club Apparel.

o   Popcorn passes are needed to be printed on a separate card to hand out to sponsors
