September 2024 Monthly Meeting

 

Current Board Members: Carrie Buum, Jeff Buum, John Christensen, Tim “Butch” Farley, Megan Joseph, Scott Klungseth, Jill Mockler, Adam Nelson, Brendyn Richards, Kayla Schurch, Michael Schurch and Ashley Sharpe.

Secretary Report: Megan Joseph. Ashley made a motion approve, seconded by Michael. No further discussion. Motion carried.

Treasurer Report: John Christensen. Michael made a motion to approve, seconded by Ashley. No further discussion. Motion carried.

• The school (Jared) gave John an invoice for $3000 for softball bags, that was never approved by us. Would like Coach Storo to come in with a formal request to the Board for this.
• Motion made to change the amount from $600 to $700 for Softball USD Team Camp. Motion made by Michael to approve, seconded by Jill. No further discussion. Motion carried.

• Sub-committee selction- open floor discussion
  • Membership drive-individual/corporate-football, volleyball games.
  • Corporate sponsorship and membership status
    • Michael was able to approach 22 businesses in one day, reaching a lot of businesses that hadn’t been asked in previous years.
    • Membership selling at the football game this Friday, but not the volleyball game tomorrow night. Homecoming game will be the last game we sell at.
    • Flags for the back fo the stadium should be up in the pressbox.
  • Homecoming-trinkets, street painting, flag, flyover
    • After prom committee that is painting paws will come on Sunday to paint paws for us for the street painting.
    • Jeff has flag reserved for homecoming game.
    • Street painting this Sunday will begin at 5. Paint is at Ace (Jeff will get).
    • We will need to fill trinket orders for the elementary kids (some of us will do this on Sunday during street painting).
    • Using Michaels golf cart for parade. Adam, Jill and Megan will be there for parade, anyone else is welcome to join. Jill is ordering stuff to throw out at parade and picking up candy.
    • Ashley will be at the Hall of Fame Banquet to hand out awards.
    • Butch checked out the inflatable dog head. Hoping to set up this Friday to see if it blows up. He will also buy paracord, sandbags and extension cords that will stay with the dog head for when it is used.
    • Jeff has the pocket calendars at his house and will bring them to First Dakota, and rest to school to use at games when doing membership drive.
    • Morning mingle for sponsors-Tuesday Sept 10^th at 7:15 at HS multi purpose room(Owen will get the kids informed that need to be there to help). Kayla, Jill and Michael will be there for sure, anyone else is welcome to show up and help. Carrie will send out a text to the sponsors with invitation to it.
  • Apparel Store-when to reopen (already reopened)

  • Status on BABC apparel
• Review Board Member expectations/commitments
• Sam Thorson from All-American Sports Productions. Joined us to explain about potential for using his business to make promotional/hilight videos for different sports at BHS.
  • What services he offers-hilight videos, full social media management, pre-season hype videos, consulting work for students on social media management.
  • $250 gets us one 3-5 minute long hype video, social media presence, all the footage he uses he will give to us.
  • Full season for one sport is $1500. Season is based off of the football schedule of 8-9 games.
  • Asking him about potential for making a video of Homecoming with all of the events happeneing. See how everyone responds to the video and then move forward with more with him.
